EVALUATION SERVICES
Assessments are conducted through a structured process that includes an initial interview, self-report questionnaires, and standardised psychological tests. This process helps gather comprehensive information about the individual’s mental health, behaviour patterns, and emotional well-being. The data collected is then analysed to form a clear understanding of the individual’s needs and to develop an appropriate treatment plan.
Yes, you can choose between a group assessment and an individual assessment. Individual assessments focus on personal issues and tailored treatment plans, while group assessments may be used for family therapy or when addressing shared concerns within a schooling context. The choice depends on the specific needs and preferences of you, the client.
After the assessment, a feedback session is scheduled where the results are discussed in detail. During this session, the therapist will explain the findings, answer any questions, and outline recommended next steps or treatment plans. A written report summarising the assessment outcomes and recommendations is also provided to you, the client.
The cost of an assessment can vary depending on the type and length of the assessment. Many medical aid plans do cover psychological assessments, but coverage can vary widely. It is advisable to check with your medical aid provider to understand the specifics of your coverage. Our administrative team can assist in providing detailed cost information.
Yes, the assessments are designed to be suitable for all age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults. Different assessment tools and techniques are used depending on the age and specific needs of the individual to ensure accurate and meaningful results.

After the assessment, results and feedback are usually provided within 10 working days. The exact timeline will be discussed during the initial consultation.
Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

The Family Therapy Centre operates on a cash, card or Pay Stack basis, requiring upfront fees for therapy sessions and assessments. Since we are not contracted with Medical Aid, it is the client’s responsibility to claim reimbursement from their provider. Therapy sessions vary in duration and are charged at different rates, with additional fees for any time exceeded.
Assessment rates, which encompass various types, can be provided upon request. Please note that fees are subject to annual changes.
